We are going to the theater to witness a terrific beautiful and colorful performance with black and light effects. It is a combination of the ultraviolet light and fantastically skilled dancers that almost gives the feeling that gravity is nullified.
The performance is pantomime (without words) and humor plays a supporting role in all the performances. It is always a suitable and unforgettable experience for children as well as adults.
Black/light theatre originates from the East, but Prague has settled on the genre as if it were theirs, and thus its own stamp on the plays.
The pieces, which are performed by various actors and dancers, are dressed all in black while performing. But because of the very special lighting effects – black light – you can't see these people performing, but just their paraphernalia that they bring to the stage and with which they perform some wonderful maneuvers. In between these plays, there will be other actors at the front of the stage performing a traditional show with comedy, mimicry and sketches, but without words, so everyone can understand what is going on.

On the guided tour, we visit the tunnels and spaces down in the nuclear bunker, where people had to hide to survive in the event of a nuclear war.
On the trip we will see the historical exhibition with original military equipment, gas masks, uniforms, pictures and civil defense equipment. The local tour guide will wear an authentic military uniform.
The nuclear bunker's exhibition consists of a collection of the most commonly used equipment used from World War II to 1989. The exhibition includes gas masks, measuring equipment, dozimeters, chemical analyzers, uniforms, army equipment, photographs, books, newspapers, helmets, bags, boxes, flags, needles and authentic original equipment from the bunker.
We will visit the nuclear bunker's tunnel system which includes the various rooms and connecting tunnels people would stay in. After the United States invented and used the atomic bomb at the end of the war, it became inevitable that other countries would follow suit, and a new era of warfare began.
Fortunately, the Cold War never escalated to a real war, but the fear of the war itself was much greater and in itself prevented the war. Preparations were made on both sides, but on the side of the Eastern bloc many more means were spent than on the Western to be prepared. After the end of communism, all the facilities that were meant to be used for the war became useless. Most of them were stopped to be maintained and became victims for the time being.
Tour takes 90 minutes.
Enter the Cold War era with unique visit of the nuclear fallout shelter. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, these underground shelters were real thing due to fear of nuclear war between USA and Soviet Union. The Folimanka shelter is known to be the largest underground construction in Prague 2. Its interior of 1332 m² can hold up to 1300 persons. The shelter is maintained and is fully functional with lighting and heating. It is located approximately 20 meters below ground level.
The original construction plans date back to 1952 and the shelter was completed in 1962. Structure consists of concrete blocks and inside there are several rooms, including two toilets, a sanitation room, a medical station, two oxygen stations, three filter-ventilation units, two dust chambers, two makeshift mortuaries, a communication center, and a power center. The shelter is equipped with armored doors, one main entrance, two emergency exits, several emergency exits to the dome, and an observation post.
You will not only see the inside of the shelter, but also permanent exhibitions. Ashes of Ash Wednesday Exhibition reminds bombing of Prague in 1945 by Allied air force. On display is even defused American 500 LB General Purpose bomb. Included in Folimanka Shelter is also improvised cinema hall with documentary about Cold War and other crisis situations.

National Technical Museum in Prague has been established in 1908. For over a hundred years extensive collections have been assembled here documenting the development of many technical fields, of the natural and exact sciences, and of industry in the territory of today’s Czech Republic.
You can view the most interesting and, in many cases, rare and unique exhibits of its collections in the Museum’s permanent and shorter-term exhibits.
The first permanent exposition of the National Technical Museum was in the building on Letná, built for the museum according to the design of architect Milan Babška, gradually opened beginning in 1949. As time went on, expositions were swapped out and improved. However, up through the 1990s, the building was not fully suited to the purpose for which it was designed and built. From 2003 to 2012, the building was closed to visitors, and underwent a massive reconstruction, expressly for the purpose of serving as a technical museum. On February 16th, 2011, after an almost five-year pause, the National Technical Museum was reopened to the public. Five new exhibits were opened during that year, including the traditional Transportation Exhibit. The following year saw the opening of the Technology in the Home exhibit. In June of 2012, the museum added the exhibits Chemistry Around Us and Measurement of Time. The museum's reconstruction and the new exhibits are part of the program "Care for National Cultural Treasures".
In October 2013 the renovation of the National Technical Museum was completed. The museum now presents centuries of technical ingenuity in its 15 permanent expositions.

Next to it is the National Cemetery, where almost all the famous Czech personalities are buried, including the two greatest composers, Smetana and Dvořak. We also tell about three prominent people in Czech history who, for various reasons, have been laid to rest elsewhere. We end the visit by descending into the 330 m2 catacombs under the castle ruins.
In the past, the room was used as a meeting place for the army, just as it has been a warehouse for food and ammunition. Today, six of Karlsbroen's original statues are stored there. The room is also used for exhibitions and exclusive test performances.

The Wenceslas Square with the upside down equestrian statue, the Mary Snow church and Prague underground
On this tour we first go to the Wenceslas Square, where we tell about the 1968 revolt, Alexander Dubček and the Prague Spring, where Czechoslovakia was occupied by an army from the countries in the Warsaw Pact, consisting of 500.000 soldiers, tanks and 800 airplanes. Many of the insidents took place here on the square, where the young student Jan Palach in January 1969 set himself to fire and ran burning down the square, too, as a protest against the invasion.
At the end of the square we see a big equestrian statue of the Holy Wenceslas. Now we go into the Lucerna-passage and we will se Wenceslas in a totally different way. This piece of art is made by a very controversial, Czech artist David Černy, who has made a number of pieces of art, which are exhibited on different spots in town. We will tell about some of them, f. ex. the debatable Entropa, which he made when the Czech Repulic had the precidency of the EU in 2009.
Then we go into the Franziscan garden and into the Mary Snow church. We will reveal why the church is so tall and so short, and how it according to the legend got its very speciel name.
Finally we reach the high-light of the day, which is the visit in the Prague underground. 6-7 meters below the Old Town Hall we find the "Town under the Town", where people were living in the 12th century, until several meters of soil were put on top of all the houses, because of the big problems with the floodings. The walls in the Romanesque houses are several meters thick as they were constructed as small fortresses to protect the residents against the enemy. We will see a big number of wells, because the rich inhabitants were unsatisfied with the quality of the water in the public wells.Later the cellars were used as dungeons and torture chambers. We take a walk in the old gallery and tell the stories about how the prisoners were tortured and lived a miserable life.

See Prague's true face on this special and different trip to Žižkov, the city's most authentic and alternative district with Prague's tallest construction TV tower.
We start the trip by going up to the Vitkov hill where the world's largest equestrian statue Jan Žižka is. The statue weighs 16.5 tons and stands on the national memorial where the legionaries from the First World War were to be honored. The Nazis used it as a warehouse, the Communist Party used it as propaganda and many top communists were buried here.
Here you can enjoy one of the best view over Prague.
The Žižkov district is located behind the main railway station. The neighbourhood was separated from the centre of Prague and had its own independence for many years. The area is often called the “Free Republic Žižkov”. Tall and dense houses were built on steep streets to accommodate as many people as possible, today it gives a very special look and distinctive working environment. We walk through the narrow streets up to the famous TV tower.
Žižkov TV tower was built between 1985 and 1992 and has been given the title of the world's second ugliest building. But the TV tower is also an impressive postmodern architectural design, with the large baby statues crawling up the sides. The tower is 216 meters high and is Prague's tallest building. We take the elevator up to the observation room at 96 meters altitude and enjoy the panoramic view of the city. We end the trip with a refreshment at the café in the TV tower and enjoy the breathtaking views over the whole of Prague.
You can walk from the centre to Žižkov or take public transport.
